Maria from Oulu, one of the newer additions to the team, but quickly took her place and proved Oulu really is a hockey city.
She's not bad of a singer either, studying Sámi dialects (Finnish indigenous people) and doing some modeling on the side. She continued hockey 5 years after the team's demise, having actually the longest track record of games out of the whole team as it was 10 years ago.
Her doll, as well as Serafina's, isn't mine, but the character is and I think the doll is gorgeous. I totally see Maria with grown out hair and slimmer figure when I look at her, but still with that no-bullshit attitude. I think. I don't know what others see when looking at her.
If I absolutely have to give her a personality trait I have, I think she's part of my old dreams. Runway model (before instead of growing up, I grew wide) and studying languages. Who knows where she'll be going in her life. She's scoring gigs as a photoshoot model every now and then in Selenia, so that is a start.
Song for her is one of my faves as well and I can totally see her dancing to it.

Olga, one of the three original Russians in the team and has lived in Finland the second longest of all the foreigners, only Mirka has lived longer, then Sera and Anje.
Always thin and lithe, her career suffered from her depression and eating disorder, but life is going better for her, she's more focused on her violin playing and psychology studies, that she came to finish in Selenia University.
Olga is one of the more enigmatic characters and I don't know much of her, but she's a kind and quiet, the silent observer who always knows more than people think. That's partial what type of person I am. Nobody expects me to have actually listened (nowadays I really don't listen, if I really have things to do and focus on)
She's Russian, but not really proud of it, she's bit of a wall flower, rather, though in the rink, she was in the second attack line (AOO line) with her best friend Anastasia and Valerie.
Shoulder to cry on? She's the one. No matter if you call her in the middle of the night and need to rant, she'll just make a cuppa and sit down to listen. She may not be able to help, but at least you can unwind.
Song choice is her fave artist and song, I agree, a good one.

My best friend, Serafina, one person riot and the wild child. She was one of the first to be made into dolls, in first 5 I think, not actually sure.
Out of all of them, her lookalike doll is actually second that is not really my doll, but belongs to JS. She gave her Sera's adult signature look, the Cloud Strife -hairstyle and I added tattoos, none of them sadly visible with these pics and clothes.
Her doll is still not perfect, because she is usually completely make-up free and doesn't really wear big earrings, but I'm not permitted to change her looks other than the tattoos and clothing. I'm guessing somebody dolled her up.
Sera is younger of the half-Czech half-Finnish twins, she was always the smaller one, but that made her a fast skater. She's also rather restless and since they were taught how to skate at the age of 5, she's been on ice and since the age of 10, playing guitar.
As of today, it's 6 days to her and Anje's 28th birthday, by today she has been the hockey star and co-captain of the team, 10 years as a professional guitarist in a band (about 10, who's counting?) and 6 years free of the cancer that nearly claimed her life.
She's the type of friend I never had, a hilarious personality, who likes the same things as I, trampoline, good music, skating, imitating, movies and cosplaying.
She's maybe part of my tomboy side, not too fond of dresses and pink. She's supposed to be rather small, like me, but dolls being what they are, she's actually just about as tall as most.

Frankie Melissa Montoya. Quite a curve ball she threw at me. I always thought she was Caucasian, but turns out she has also Asian roots. That was surprising.
These things with dolls do actually just happen, you don't necessarily know who the doll is right away in the store or even when you've gotten them out of the box. She's one of them. She apparently likes flashy make-up, just to make a point.
Frankie is one of them who has more backstory than others, it all depends on what they want to share with me later. Her house burnt down when her little sister was a tot and they got separated when her parents thought she was dead, while she simply hitched a ride out of town over an argument with a former hockey team friend. She lived in Montreal for years before joining her friends to come to a new team formed in Finland as an equipment testing team.
Her parents and sister later found her when the team began gathering notoriety and she was reunited with them until their parents were shot as a result of a robbery gone wrong. Her sister took the bullet for her big sister, which brought them even closer.
She's rather open to new things and sometimes has admitted acting before thinking.
Little sister Marie Felicia, newly graduated pharmacist
Frankie was a agile skater and decent handed, so she did have a share of the team's total of goals ever made. She is one of my favorites and dearest friends, maybe because of Canadian kindness and slightly mischevious behavior.
She shares my passion for hockey, metal music and now sadly gone Atlanta Thrashers. She is not overly patriotic, as am not I either, but she'd still be one of those tourists from Canada covered in Canadian flags.
Frankie was bummed out her best friend Minya was injured in a scooter accident that ended her career (more of her later) and was even more hostile when she was replaced with Christina "Bolt" Hannigan, who she had a quarrel with, back in Vancouver. She probably wanted to smack her into next week with her skateboard.
Well, that dispute is over and she's now married to Christina, so maybe the Finnish saying Rakkaudesta se hevonenkin potkii wasn't all bullshit. (Even a horse kicks from love). I can feel her glaring at me right now XD Yes, even a doll can look at you funny. And no, I'm not crazy. I hope.
The song, well, I thought of Mya's All About The Money, which she has liked to sing for years, but she chose this. I have to admit, I approve of this choice as well.
What she represents? Maybe all the things I wanted to do as a kid. Skateboard, be outgoing (I was the shyest kid you'd find, unless you got to know me and I turned out to be a total weirdo)
She's the type to try out new things, something I don't like to do, because they usually ended badly for me, so maybe she's also that. My courage to do things.

Sandra, the tiny pocket rocket from Sweden. As a defender, she was pesky and like a tiny terrier dangling from your ankle. She went for modeling and can't blame her, piercings make her look even more exotic.
She is one of those who just grows on you, with her happy-go-lucky attitude, yet still, a level head.
As for what she represents in me, I don't know, she's one of those more independent characters who just appeared, exotic and vibrant, a complete opposite of what Finns usually are.
She kept on with sports as well when the team quit, after playing in another girls' team for two more seasons. She became an aerobics and later, zumba and yoga instructor, so that is a testament to her wish to keep on moving. Who knows what all other things she does, I wouldn't be surprised to see her in the Bollywood dance classes, or pulling some Arabic dancing classes herself.
Her motto actually is Dance like nobody's watching. A bit of solid advice, not everyone can follow it though.
Song for her was a no-brainer.

Aliisa-Jemina Hae (nee Koivu) was the original captain for the team, but never really felt comfortable for it and she lacked the same air of authority that Mirka possessed, so she stepped down, ending up quitting altogether. She's two years older, -89 born.
If you'd ask her, she'd say she's a (pardon my french) a clusterfuck of bad decisions, including marrying young and having a kid, then ending up a single mother of a boy before meeting a friend of a friend, a fellow cosplayer and a professional drummer, whom she ended up marrying. A Korean husband and a move out of Finland seemed to be good for her.
Despite having failed as a captain and being usually absent from social media, she's the one with whom you can pick up a conversation two years back and continue it like you said bye only yesterday. She's also quite deadpan in her delivery, smacking people silly before they can even realize what hit them. Maybe she's my fears of how my life would go as a teen, or just my mean persona. She's not cruel, just sarcastic.
Song choice for her without her now happier marriage would be Clean Bandit feat Anne-Marie, Sean Paul - Rockabye, still sort of applies. Her son sure is older than 6, but she's protective of him and that's why there's no photo for you of him, I'll have to persuade her for it first.
The second choice (ok, third) was Shania Twain, another golden one from the era music was good, I mean the mainstream music, not metal. Metal never stopped being good.

Sofia, one of the Russian 5, later added to the team. In my mind, she had long curly hair, much like something I've always wanted, but I'm unfortunate enough to have mildly wavy hair in dirt road color with black brows.
Sofia is from Krasnoyarsk, Russia, also, like most of them, born 1991. One of the more enigmatic, silent but also, the one who would give you the shirt off her back to help you. After careful consideration though. She wasn't born yesterday.
She's been bigger and taller in my mind, but with dolls' sizes being what they are, I take what I can. This is the second repaint of her face. Her fate has often been on the line, but she is quite a strong personality, the silent and brooding type woman, who takes shit from nobody.
In that sense, she could be described as being my stone cold facade in person. No matter what sized sticks and stones you hurl at me, I won't flinch or show anything outside. While inside I'd be all ready to rip a person's head off, with no remorse. As a teen, I could have left behind a trail of bodies.
Love makes people more mellow and I've experienced that, my tough girl persona has crumbled and unlike her, who has retained her tough girl act (she wears pink and can beat your ass into next week) through the years.
Her song choice was one of my elementary school staples to blast, it was a fight over to get the CD because of their reputation, but I like their music and I will never stop blasting this.
It was a fight between hoop earrings and this.
She lives with her wife outside of Russia, for reasons that are painfully obvious.

from Kodiak, Alaska. A girl with scars and a lot of spiders. She's had quite many tarantulas, but she's also somehow the worst keeper for them, for they all escaped sooner or later and Mirka, you'll meet her later, does have rather violent reactions towards spiders. Poor spiders.
...not a fan either XD
She's the powerhouse of the bunch, has a weird sense of humor and great pride in being from Alaska. She tends to go snoop around in libraries and archives to find more of her ancestry and being Native, she isn't afraid of cold. Or anything for the matter.
Kya has never been the tiniest of girls, her idols are rather prominent players as well, each in their own way. She's been always curious and follows any hockey league really, rarely picking sides, but in Finland, she went with the flow, living in the team HQ mostly, but at times, with the Yelenka family.
Song for her was a hard one since she's not the most talkative towards me, I've changed her song so many times by now and I think I finally hit one good enough.
You could call her bit of an enigma, she has left me guessing what she does, but I reckon stays close to home.
If I have to classify her as... what part of my subconscious she is, maybe the views on Native people, their cultures. I'm from Finland and we have cold winters, nothing as cold as Alaska, but while it's also stinking dangerous, it's beautiful all the raw nature. Maybe she embodies my wish to experience the true power of the Arctic.

My old imaginary friends, given their own lives, as dolls. They were my rock through the bitter years and beyond. Yes, I did turn inwards more, I became an introvert, but meanwhile, they were there, keeping me sane. I'm going to dedicate May and beyond to them, as a thank you.
Every day, 18:30.
They formed a hockey team I could never join, but they were still there, as my friends, let me live the life I wanted as a teen when I had no chance to. They always had time for me, they soothed my anger, sadness, fears. Sure, I had few friends and online later, but... when the computer stopped keeping my interest, I was off, in my room, in the closed space, where I could walk, talk, see them...
When their hockey team fell apart, some of them refused to give up and wanted to stay together. That's what they did and formed SnegDisastru, whose name I never ended up changing into Phoenixe Imperiale, though it's a name the band would deserve.
Of course, I had more of them, imaginary friends, but it's a long process to find just the perfect doll and perfect body and get the face just right. Some are more in their original look, some heavily modified and some I will probably never be satisfied with. 2012-2018 Barbies came with a horrid glue problem and I have several on constant observation and wash up list for it, three are waiting for a reroot, if the glue issue gets on my nerves more than it already does. I know I haven't written in this blog much about these things, should, but I can't always keep up with myself. I'm easily distracted and lose interest.
This is the freshly rerooted mini-me. JS dressed me up, the look is completed with sneakers and to be honest, that's almost identical to a sweater I own, that is a doll shirt made out of my own t-shirt and yoga pants. I've made miniatures of my classes also, because, well, I have that kind of glasses.
I wish there were petite Made-To-Move dolls, they have huge range of motion in joints, almost humanlike. Almost. Anyway... I also thought this needs to be a Music Month, so I've coupled all of them with a song that they'd listen and dig, or what reflects them.
Out of all the songs, I think I haven't posted this one of me. I don't have any motivation for anything, I've just lost all Get Up and Go, it got the fuck up and went without me and is now gone.
Three stints through school at a week-long "Work Experience Tryout" and they were at two different local stores and my old elementary (gawd, nightmare trips all of them!). They proved I'm most comfortable doing something under somebody's supervision, assisted, but with only one other person. That's what I've found out. And that I don't always think clearly. Not when nervous. Which is most of the time.
I didn't want to go to do a summer job, everyone else did, it was almost a scandal I was the only one in our village who hadn't been working summertime in the village cemetery. My grandparents let me chill the summer, take it easy and load batteries. They said after a school year, time off is a good thing. Besides, I never went anywhere beyond hopping on my bicycle and hitting the neighborhood, and later, not even that. So I was at home. All the time. I never went anywhere. I had my own shit. Though the paranoia caused by a former classmate spying on me left me unable to go outside for years, so that did cause the isolation as well.
Anyway, I digress. Next job was after I simply got fed up with studying after the semi-fiasco that was Joutseno... I simply crashed and burned. I had also tried phone sales and lasted a week, berry picking just destroyed my knees and the owner's wife and father were horrible to be around with. Few days only.
I was thrust into a personal service through the employment office, who got me to 6 months in a youth workshop. I first was nervous about it, then, liked it, then, ended up absolutely hating it. I also got some arguments in there, was sent to see a shrink (that led simply nowhere except the fact I had depression, had known that since junior high, that place changes people into monsters) and luckily I got to apply to art schools. Two of them I did get the entry to but chose Lappia Vocational College. It was crap as well. A trainwreck of a school.
Before that, I had my second most difficult job ever. Amusement park ticket cashier. Oh sweet bejesus! Only people not enjoying that place has to be those who sell the tickets. I can't go to details, but I couldn't handle the pressure. Even until the last day, I couldn't grasp the details and fumbled with the register, which was old fashioned, but still, gawd, it was horrid. I like going to the place and I have sympathy to everyone who starts as a cashier, it ain't simple.
Through Lappia I had to go and get a month's work practice place. The local weaver didn't reply or seem keen into taking a free worker, so I just called up my birth town's yarn store and was instantly taken in for the month. Hard, yes, did I blunder there too? YES. I never seem to do things right even after directions, which did hammer me down for weeks and left me with fear of failing so crippling I just can't. I liked it and visit the place, purchase stuff, but still...
I would have probably gotten to work in the local Chinese restaurant, I was good friends with the owners, but we moved and soon, they quit. I'm still rather bummed out, the owner would have taken me in right away. But I needed to get away from the town. I still have difficulties being there.
When I got to Sea-Lapland, I was pointed towards the free vacancy and appointed a place as a temp for Children's Culture and Art Center. 3 and a half months. Well... I was the one they picked, I was also hilariously underqualified for the job that I was simply dropped into. I had no idea what to do and was just fumbling around, barely managing to keep it together with the kindergarten groups that I had to help manage and run craft classes. Not really popular ideas I seemed to have and I just... I learned one thing, I don't want to deal with kids. I seemed to be a child magnet growing up and maybe still a bit too, but I don't like them the least bit. They couldn't have picked the worse worker than me. Out of three of us, one never showed up and the other... well she couldn't have been worse than me!
I don't remember how long was I without a job, when I was put into the care of employment office through the city and managed to score a place for 8 months, my longest yet, with the city's park maintenance unit. It was... a double-edged sword, it caused (and nearly broke my knees and back) my significant other's fibromyalgia to manifest and was full of friendships drama, but at least two good friends came out of it. There were days when I absolutely hated it (not a morning person and idiots make my blood boil) but also fun and an interesting job at times. Helped me know the city better.
Been unemployed for a year now, I pretty much shot myself in the leg with my anxiety as I didn't sign up with YTK sooner, so I didn't get their support (18 fucking hours!), but the government's, which fluctuates nowadays, thanks to the "Active Form", which means if there's no job or any courses checked up, I get reduced unemployment support and that just destroyed the last remnants of my sanity.
I've been almost to the brink of a total meltdown at least twice a month since I've been unemployed, struggling with money and not able to find a job I know I can do. I have tried asking the park maintenance do they want me back to the watering unit, but nothing yet, I'd have almost 4 months of the supported pay left, so they wouldn't need to pay me, but... I've also applied for housing support, which we are getting and living support, though I'm still waiting for that decision, do I even get it.
I'm a total wreck, left at everybody's mercy. Broke and Broken. I'm not even good enough to hire and nobody is really interested of my art or jewelry. I haven't felt this insignificant in years. Honestly.
